Last month the Government announced that from 01 February 2024 VAT on standalone and retrofit battery storage installations will be reduced to 0%.
This change has been unanimously welcomed by the industry. It will create alignment with the VAT rate paid for batteries installed as part of a new solar PV installation which has been at 0% since April 2022. The VAT relief will be in place until 31 March 2027.
